Number 1 this week is Olly Murs with Dance With Me Tonight, holding off the challenge of yet more X Factor artists, including none other than One Direction and JLS, for the top spot with Wishing On A Star settling at number 2.

Rihanna, is now at number 4 with her collaboration with Calvin HarrisWe Found Love – and Jessie J makes the top ten with Who You Are. Avicii is at number 8 with Levels, whilst the track that samples that very tune, Good Feeling is residing at number 5.

We actually have some non Dance and RnB this week with Coldplay and Ed Sheeran making the Top 10 – Is this the beginning of a turnaround back to Indie and Rock in the near future? I doubt it…….

Cher Lloyd is number one this week with the strangely titled Swagger Jagger. Opinion is still divided about this track, but with it being her first release since appearing in X Factor and with it going to the top spot also, who can say that she ain’t got it right. Another ex X Factor act (easy for you to say) is JLS who are at number 2 this week with She Makes Me Wanna.

The rest of the top 10 is all about RnB and Dance. David Guetta has his billionth top 10 hit with Little Bad Girl, whilst Beyonce is at 7 with The Best Thing I Never Had, still doing well off the back of her headlining set at Glastonbury this year.

Drum and Bass is represented by DJ Fresh and Louder, while a new entry makes number 9, the unbelievably catchy Down With The Trumpets by Rizzle Kicks.

We have 2 dogs represented in the chart this week, namely Pitbull who is at number one with Give Me Everything and also Snoop Dogg who is in a bit of a Sweat at number 9. Pitbull pops up again at number 10 featuring on Jennifer Lopez’s single On The Floor which was a number 1 earlier in the year.

LMFAO are still shufflin’ at number 3 with their Party Rock Anthem after being at number one for 3 weeks earlier this month, whilst Lady GaGa has 2 tracks off her new album Born This Way in the Top 10 this week at 6 with Edge Of Glory and also at 8 with Judas.

Bruno Mars is lazing around at number 2, however he has been anything but Lazy in the last 12 months with his current release being his 3rd consecutive number 1 single. David Guetta makes his customary appearance with Where Dem Girls At at number 7, whilst Chris Brown and newcomer Aloe Blacc make up the rest of this weeks best selling titles.

Adele is reigning supreme at the top of the charts this week with her mega smash single Someone Like You. She has already been at number one in the album charts for around 10 weeks and with Rolling In The Deep, her previous single being at 9 also, it looks like she is going to dominate the charts this year, much like Lady Gaga and Duffy have done in previous years. This reflects the female dominance of the charts at the moment with Nicole Sherzinger at 2 with Don’t Hold Your Breath, Jessie J at 5 with her follow up to Do it Like a Dude, Price Tag, Rihanna and S&M at 6 and Lady Gaga at 10 with Born This Way.

RnB takes centre stage again this week, sprinkled with a little charity pop, with The Wanted at number 4. Seems like we Just Can’t Get Enough of The Black Eyed Peas as they are present in the top 10 again at number 4, with Wiz Khalifa and Dr Dre making up the rest of the top 10.

Here’s our first Top 10 chart for 2011.

Bruno Mars is at number one this week with Grenade, the follow up to the massive Just The Way You Are. Rihanna features twice in the new Top 10 this week with David Guetta on Who’s That Chick and on her own release What’s My name.

Although both tracks sound like she’s forgotten something, she will surely remember the last five years of her career with affection after becoming the first female solo artist in UK chart history to achieve number one singles in five consecutive years.

Only Girl (In The World) was at number one last year and followed other number ones for Run This Town (2009), Take A Bow (2008) and Umbrella (2007) which along with What’s My Name make up the five.

Hoping to follow Rihanna’s success is Jessie J at number two with Do It Like A Dude, who is hotly tipped for bigger things after being voted number number one on the BBC Sound of 2011 list.

Top 10 Ringtones Of 2010

Tuesday 4th January 2011 by Matt in Ringtones, UK Charts

2010 was definitely the year for Hip Hop, RnB and Urban Dance music. This is reflected heavily in our best selling music ringtones of 2010 with 9 out of the top 10 tunes coming from these genres. Only Matt Cardle represents any other type of music act with his cover of rock performers Biffy Clyro‘s Many of Horror/When We Collide.

The number one crown this year can be fairly and squarely placed atop of Eminem‘s head with his track Love The Way You Lie, outselling all other tones by 2 to 1. Being ably assisted by Rihanna on this release, it is she herself who makes it into the best sellers  at number 4 with Only Girl In The World.

Collaborations make up 4 of the top 10 best sellers of 2010, proving that 2 artists together can shift a stack of sales, but the big question is will Hip Hop, RnB and Urban Dance music continue to dominate 2011? With big releases from Coldplay, The Strokes and Foo Fighters on the horizon, Indie and Rock may make a comeback!

Be sure to keep an eye on things with our regular top 10 updates throughout 2011.

Happy New Year!!!

So this years Christmas Number 1 is again an X Factor release, this time in the guise of Matt Cardle with his rendition of Biffy Clyro’s Many Of Horror, the renamed When We Collide. The battle for the 2010 Christmas Number 1 was a little more straightforward compared to last years fight, where Joe McElderry and Rage Against The Machine were neck and neck right up to the last day.

This years Internet campaigns for alternative number 1′s floundered at 3 with The Thrashmen and Surfin Bird – The Birds The Word, the aforementioned Biffy themselves and also Johns Cage’s, Cage Against The Machine with 4 ’33.

Take That are still swimming against the tide with The Flood at number 6 with Akon giving Michael Jackson a helping hand at number 10 with their duet Hold My Hand. Black Eyed Peas are at 4 with their version of Time Of Our Lives from Dirty Dancing , The Time, while Willow Smith continues to Whip Her hair at number 9.
