Saboteur is a dark tale of revenge set in the seedy underground of 1940s occupied France. During World War II, Sean Devlin, an Irishman with a heart of gold and fists of steel, sets out on a path of vengeance against the Nazis who destroyed everything he cared about. Sean wages a personal war against the Nazis and plays by his own rules.

Whilst the premise for this game is very good, it could have been a little better. The graphics are cool enough as is most of the gameplay to satisfy the needs of the most ardent of adventure gamers, but somehow it’s really difficult to get killed, which whilst not such a bad thing normally, in the case of The Saboteur, makes the game slightly easier to play than perhaps it should be.

Your main weapon is your stealth like moves – hitting the 5 button makes Sean conduct a fatal hay maker, which he also does when you move close to your enemy whether you want him to or not. Again great if you want to steam through the game, but much like a poor Premiership football team, there’s no defence from your foe. There is also a handy wall clinging option if you wish to stalk the Nazi enemy, however this can be slightly difficult to employ.

In our verdict this is a good Action/Adventure game that is worth a look at if you like to be invincible!

Mobile Phones – A Killer On The Loose

Wednesday 17th March 2010 by Matt in Mobile News

Toucha This I Keel You

A major phone comparison website today published it’s results from interviewing over one thousand mobile phone owners as to what other electronic devices they used on a day to day basis apart from their trusty mobile. The results suggest that mobiles are serial gadget gannets!

It found 68 per cent of the respondents had an MP3 player of some type, but of those, over half said they now used their mobile phone more for listening to music.

42 per cent of the people taking part in the survey did not have a digital camera sighting that they would rather use their phone camera provided that the one integrated in their phone was of 5 megapixels or more. They also stated that 5 megapixel models were the benchmark that they look for when renewing their handset.

A fifth of the people polled said that they only had a landline phone as it came as part of their Satellite TV and Internet deal, with 92% of those more likely to use their free minutes on their mobile than make a call via their landline option.

Mobiles - Devils Device

Old school calculators also took a bashing from the not so humble mobile with 91 per cent of respondents saying that they used the calculator on their phone instead.

Only 13 per cent owned a calendar or diary, but over two thirds said they used their mobile handset to keep a track on their meetings and to-do lists.

It wasn’t all device death and destruction however with 81 percent of the respondents still preferring a ‘traditional’ sat nav to a map application on their mobile.

Must be something in the voice.

24: Jack Bauer Mobile Game

24 Jack Bauer

Jack is Back

Product: 24 Jack Bauer
Developer: Digital Chocolate
Publisher: Digital Chocolate
Format: Mobile
Genre: Shoot Em Up, TV And Movies, Action
Players: 1
Format: J2ME
File size: 1.02MB

Jack’s back to tackle an all-new threat! Step into Jack Bauer’s shoes in 24 suspense packed episodes of 24 action. Confront attackers, fight helicopters, drive vehicles and much more in an intense day full of authentic adrenaline-packed 24 adventure. Go to the edge of disaster as you defuse bombs, break codes and chase cars in the ultimate 24 experience!

The action begins right from the off and there really is no let up, right through the 24 hour virtual time frame – much like the TV series. Except this is where the game differs, after 7 or 8 series of 24, the formulaic episodes can be left well alone, but not with this game – it’s hard to put down. Having said that, the game does incorporate the espionage and lateral thinking of the TV hit as well as the shoot em up fun also.

The gameplay is fluent if a little hampered by the depth or angle of the overhead style which sometimes makes controlling Jack a bit of a challenge, but even that makes this game more interesting especially when you have to choose between all out attack or controlled approaches to situations.

If you have already played Special Ops then this new 24 Jack Bauer title will hold no real mind blowing changes for you, but having said that Digital Chocolate have done the one major thing to improve on the Special Ops title. The game story is so much better this time around with Jack battling it with Russians who are attempting to overthrow a PM from an unamed European country.

In summary, this is a TV franchise game that unlike many others that are tied or tired, is a must play.

Ringtones-Direct marks out of 109/10.
