The mobile phone – what would we do without it? But as always with such an essential item, it comes with a price to pay. Namely, the little irritations that surround any must have item when it’s used and abused - where something or more like someone gets under your skin and narks you like nothing else.
Like Windows Updates on a pc, like what White Van Man is to first class delivery and how wasps gather round your beer on a Summer’s day (turn over that glass someone), mobile phone usage can get right up your nose. That’s why us here at Ringtones-Direct have come up with the Mobile Phone Ten Commandments – a guide to phone etiquette.
Now these 10 points that we knocked up in 5 minutes are in no way set in stone (commandments, stone, geddit?) so we’d like some suggestions if you feel any of your personal irritants are not in the list below. Are there any more that you would add to this list? Are there any that you would take off? More importantly, do you encounter any commandment breakers on a daily basis? Or worse, do you commit any of these?! Let us know your experiences – Just submit your comments in the box provided.
Here’s that list -
1. Thou shalt not subject defenceless others to my phone conversations.
2. Thou shalt not set thy ring tone to play Grande Valse (The Nokia Tune) every time thy phone rings.
3. Thou shalt turn thy mobile phone off during public performances. And in the cinema.
4. Thou shalt continue to walk when I receive a call. Not stop. Or walk in circles. Like the phone is attached to the pavement or something.
5. Thou shalt not dial while driving. Or speak. Only on hands free.
6. Thou shalt not wear thy earpiece when thou art not on thy phone. Or when not in the car.
7. Thou shalt not speak louder on thy mobile phone than thy would on any other phone.
8. Thou shalt not grow too attached to thy mobile phone. Upgrades are good!
9. Thou shalt not play anything on loud speaker on any public transport.
10. Thou shalt not show off thy new mobile on a restaurant/pub table just in case it rings.

This Friday, the 23rd of April, marks St George’s Day, the patron saint of England.
Although primarily recognised as England’s National Day, St George’s Day is also celebrated in many other countries around the world such as Portugal, Cyprus, Malta, Greece and the Catalonian part of Spain to mention but a few.
His popularity in these countries stems from ancient history and his battle against the persecution of the Christian faith. However here in Blighty it’s all about the legend of St George the knight, who in slaying the evil dragon and rescuing the damsel in distress becomes a hero. It’s also another excuse to have a few beers! So why not celebrate St George’s Day with our brilliant range of Wallpapers and Screensavers.

We’ve already covered the strange story of the businessman who had his phone swallowed by a giant cod here on The Crazy Blog (See here).
Well, we’ve now been made aware of the story of a Missouri farmer who strolled into his local phone shop to ask for a replacement phone. Why?
Here’s the dialogue between the store assistant and the farmer -
“I know where my phone is, but I cannot retrieve it. While feeding my pigs, one of them nudged my phone and knocked it out of my holster. Before I could retrieve it, one of the other Pigs picked it up and swallowed it. I confirmed this after calling it (it was on vibrate) and my pig went crazy and broke through a fence. I called it one more time to prove to my wife what actually happened. Well, the pig broke through a wall in the barn, so I stopped calling.”
The farmers insurance apparently covered this incident and he had a brand spanking new phone given to him that day. As for the pig? He was found unharmed several days later having passed the mobile naturally.
Probably saved his bacon.
